Shannon Wise & Max Shrager are The Shacks, and the young NYC duo presents a luring self-titled EP. Wise s charmingly whispery vocals gently sit on top of Shrager s stripped down, riff-riddled production (w Leon Michels s help on Orchids ), and the 7-tracker certainly shows the young band s unexpected fondness (Wise is 18 and Shrager 20) for classic rock, doo-wop, and rocksteady ( Hands In Your Pockets ).
