Italo heat alert! NYC s Alliance Upholstery label doing it up once again with a critical reissue of Veronique s 1987 dance floor burner Jungle Man. The track is a sizzling cover of Kongo Band s  Afrikan Man with the cheese skimmed off the top and a driving Italo-NRG twist (complete with theme-appropriate OOH-AAYE-OOHS to keep it pumping). The original mix does the trick, but for my buck it s all about the Guitar Man version – a mostly instrumental version that injects some funky disco guitar and vocoder stabs into the mix. Also includes a Jaz Edit of Jungle Man that cuts to the chase of the groove. Recommended.Â
