One of our favorite labels to emerge in recent years just linked with our favorite west coast funk maestro to provide our 2017 summer soundtrack; conjuring seriously deep & dissonant zones not touched since we first fell for him waaaay back in 2008 circa Burgundy City and Rhythm Trax IV. After setting the scene with tensely cinematic neon-lit arpeggios on Apocalyptic Sunrise, Garrett launches head-first into some next-level g-funk waltz on Right Now (if we were gangbanging types, we d be out in the parking lot practicing our C-walk to this one right now) to level the vibe, making way for dubbed-out climax cut Slow Motion. Close your eyes and feel the shady palm trees floating past as you creep down Santa Monica Boulevard; you can almost taste the salt blowing in off the Pacific coast.
