Uninterrupted instrumental soundtrack to Benedikt Erlingsson s documentary, The Show of Shows. Two thirds of Iceland s Sigur Ros, bass player Georg Holm and drummer Orri Pall Dyrason, teamed up with Icelandic composer Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson and Sigur Ros touring guitarist, Kjartan Holmalong (who s Georg s brother) to craft Circe. The music is inspired by the 100 years of archive footage of vaudeville, circuses and carnivals that Erlingsson s documentary draws from. It s a pulsating, ambient wash that is at times haunting and nostalgic. Recorded at Sigur Ros s new studio space in Reykjavik, the album features contributions from the celebrated South Iceland Chamber Choir. Double vinyl pressing on Sigur Ros s Krunk imprint.
