Hawaiian Soul Holy Grail reissues. Blog turned label Aloha Got Soul coming out of the gates with two major releases under their belts with what looks to be like a long list of digging must haves on deck. Leading up to the official reissue of Mike Lundy s album The Rhythm Of Life they pulled a few tracks to press up on limited edition 45s showcasing the magic that everyone has seemed to glance over… the magic of Hawaiian Soul. Nothing Like Dat Funky Funky Music takes on A side responsibilities with a slightly uptempo Disco Soul number and a catchy chorus (Ned Doheny vibes?) but the flip is where it s at for me. Round and Around brings down the lights and turns up the mood with a sweet soul stepper that would surely get you lei d (I got mad island jokes). The accompanying female vocals seal the deal and much like Hawaiian life, this is a slice of heaven. Hand stamped sleeve with full color, faux vintage photo insert.
